Losing Faith

So I promised a review this week, and I am keeping my promise. I just didn't tell you the exact day it would be posted. So it's Losing Faith by Denise Jaden.

About and Thoughts on Book:

A terrible secret. A terrible fate.

When Brie's sister, Faith, dies suddenly, Brie's world falls apart. As she goes through the bizarre and devastating process of mourning the sister she never understood and barely even liked, everything in her life seems to spiral farther and farther off course. Her parents are a mess, her friends don’t know how to treat her, and her perfect boyfriend suddenly seems anything but.
As Brie settles into her new normal, she encounters more questions than closure: Certain facts about the way Faith died just don't line up. Brie soon uncovers a dark and twisted secret about Faith’s final night...a secret that puts her own life in danger.
From B&N

I had seen a lot of talk going on about this book, and I have to admit it intrigued me. So much so that I went on a search for a preview of it. I had to at least read some of it before buying it. I went to the author's site first, of course, and got the first chapter, which left me wanting more. As I do often when trying to know if a book is worth paying for, I went online to B&N and Borders to see which one had a click and look inside, or at least more of a preview. But of course, when I was trying this the book had yet to come out, and it didn't seem like any one site wanted me to be able to read more. Obviously, they wanted me to buy the book. Which I did. After reading just the first chapter, I knew I wanted my hands on this book.

Brie is not like her sister, Faith, in any way. She's not religious like her, or even likes to hang out with. It hadn't always been like this. They use to be best friends, but they each changed, and just didn't act the same way toward each other anymore. Then one night, Faith ends up dying. Brie can't accept this. It doesn't seem real to her. Her friends start acting weird around her, like they don't know how to act with her around. Then things about what happened to Faith just don't add up and Brie has to know what's going on. She also keeps seeing this boy she's never met around, at Faith's funeral and at her school. She has to know how he knows Faith and what's his deal.

I personally loved reading this book. I didn't want to put it down. I wanted to find out what happened to Faith just as bad as Brie with each page I read. Some parts I wasn't too happy with, but it wasn't the writing it was just what had happened. I didn't like how Brie's friends end up treating her. They didn't seem like true friends. I liked that Jaden showed that the whole family was having a hard time with the loss of Faith, but I didn't like that neither one of Brie's parents would talk to her about Faith. I highly recommend this book. I think anyone would find it worth reading.

Overall I rate this one:
LI - Loved It! It's a definite read! You should grab this book before it goes running off the shelf!
