My Life Is Average

I have recently become obsessed with going to the site www.mylifeisaverage.com . It's addicting I admit. Instead of working on school work, I'm reading random posts about the randomness of other people's lives. I feel it is a more productive way to spend my day(not really).I admit: I did submit a story about myself but have yet to see it published. Nowadays if I am getting yelled at by my mother or sister it is because I had decided to read some of the posts out loud. Come on, they have to admit some the things people put on there are HILARIOUS! I have even manage to get my sister into going on there every once and a while too. I like to say I'm promoting good habits. Or maybe not. So I know there are other people as obsessed with this site as I am. If not, go to the site, read some of the posts, I swear you'll love it, and will not be able to stop laughing. So I felt like randomly posting and rambling, and I guess I accomplished that. I am proud.

3rd Book in the Sweep Series

So I finished the third one in the Sweep series, Blood Witch, yesterday. I'm really wishing I had the fourth one right now.

About and Thoughts on Book:

So in this one, Hunter, Cal's half brother shows up. Cal says that he is evil and should not be trusted. Hunter is stalking them and tells Morgan that Cal is the one she can't trust. Morgan also finds her mother's wiccan tools, and discovers more things about her mother's coven. Morgan thinks that her relationship with Cal is getting stronger. Later on she finds out that Hunter is a Seeker and has come to get Cal for the misuse of his powers.

For some reason, I do not like Cal. I liked him in the first two books, but in this last one I just stopped liking him so much. I'm not sure if he is actually right for Morgan. I wonder if what Hunter says is true. I really need the next books in the series to help me out. The endings are so open ended that I need the next book right there as soon as I finish one. Sometimes I feel that the ending of one should actually just be the middle.

Other News:
Well I've decided to go to Clemson. No doubt in my mind. I just need to send in my admissions deposit and it's final. I've also decided to dye my hair, all of it this time, black. I'm waiting till my birthday in March to do it. I've already talked my mom into it, and she agreed. I've also been sick the past couple of days and haven't really felt like doing anything. I hope I get over it soon. So this is all for this one.

SO EXCITED!

Just a minute ago, my sister called and told me something that I screamed into the phone about. I got into Clemson! I haven't read the actual letter yet, but my sister told me that the envelope says "You're Tiger Bound." That has to be good. When she got her acceptance letter from Wake Forest, it said open immediately because there was dated material. She also told me that she could see the congratulations part of the letter. All good signs. She and my mom have gone to the grocery store, and won't be home for a little while. I'm just happy to actually know my fate.

Anyways I did finish reading the second book of the Sweep series. It's called The Coven.

About and Thoughts on Book:
In this one Morgan knows for sure that she is a witch and actually a blood witch. She thinks that this means her parents are blood witches too and her sister Mary K. She finds out she is adopted. She learns throughout the book about her birth parents and what happened to them. Morgan is also with Cal now, and is no longer friends with Bree. She's still learning things about herself and her powers.

I absolutely love this series so far. I'm almost done with the third one now, and am going to be so mad if I can't get the next ones soon. This series is really good. I'm so glad I started reading it.

So besides finally hearing from Clemson. I finished setting up my new bed frame, and got my new mattress. I just have to get a new comforter set. Right now nothing I have on my bed goes together. Well this one wasn't very long, but this is all for now.

First of the Sweep Series

I just finished yesterday the first book in the Sweep series by Cate Tiernan. I bought a book that combined the first three together, so I went right into the second instead of stopping. The first is called Book of Shadows.

About and Thoughts on Book:
It's about this girl, Morgan Rowlands, who thinks she's just an ordinary girl and thinks there's nothing special to her. A new kid, Cal Blaire, shows up and every girl at Widow's Vale High wants him including Morgan's best friend Bree. Morgan has strong feelings towards him too, but thinks that she'd never have a chance with him. Cal introduces Morgan, Bree, and some others to Wicca. Through out the book, Morgan learns that she's not as ordinary as she thought and that has powers and is a witch herself.

I like this series so far. It's been out for some years now, but I just recently heard about it. I heard from a bunch of people that it's a good series, and they're right. I'm hoping that when I finish the second and third ones I'll be able to get the rest.

Other News:
Well today is the fifteenth, and it's the day that I'm suppose to hear from Clemson. Here's the thing, I haven't. I thought I would hear through email that seemed the best choice to tell someone. I didn't. I thought it was because the email I gave on my application was messed up, so I had my sister, who applied to Clemson too to check hers; they didn't send her one either. I haven't checked the mail yet, so if it's there today that would be great, but it's President day. Most likely it's not there today. So why they told me the fifteenth, I don't know. So the agony of this is being drawn out longer. Great. So I'm busying myself with school work and books(mostly books). I hope I know this week. Anyways, yesterday was Valentine's day. I didn't do anything. I was suppose to go to Ikea and get a new mattress and comforter. I didn't get to go. I also spent the day putting together my new bed frame. I don't really care for Valentine's Day. It's not because I don't have someone. I don't think I would care for it if I did. People who say they don't like it, usually talk about how it's a holiday created by the greeting card companies. I actually learned in the third grade that there was guy named Valentine. I don't remember the whole story, but supposedly this holiday is based from his story. I don't think greeting card companies created this holiday. I like to believe it's actually based off the story of Valentine. I wish I remembered his story, but it was third grade and that was the only time I remember hearing about it. Well this is all for now, and I'm going to go eat some jalapeno poppers(which are amazing by the way).

Evernight

I just finished reading Evernight by Claudia Gray. I had been wanting to read this one since the summer. I had read a preview on Barnes and Noble's website. The problem was my sucky library never had it, and whenever I went to buy it, it was never there. Finally after digging through the shelf at WalMart, which had very little that's worth reading(at least that's how my WalMart is), I found it. It was hidden behind some others. I was so furious that I couldn't find it before that I almost shouted with joy when I finally did. I had been waiting months to read this book.

About and Thoughts on Book:
It's about this girl, Bianca, who is forced by her parents to go to Evernight Academy. Evernight has been around since the eighteen hundreds. It's pretty much still is like how it was before. At Evernight, Bianca meets Lucas. A boy she is really drawn to. He tells her to stay away from her at first, but he can't even fight their connection. He wants to protect Bianca, but Bianca isn't the one in the need of protecting. Bianca is a vampire, and so is everyone except the thirty or so human students, Mrs. Bethany let in this year. There's more behind why Mrs. Bethany let so many human students in for the first time since the school opened, and there's more to Lucas than Bianca knows.
I can honestly say I was disappointed. I had waited forever to read this book, and it simply didn't meet the hype I had given it. I did like it. It just wasn't what I expected. It started out good, it had to to get me so eager to read it. I just thought some parts were dull, and not what I expected. I still say if you like vampire books and the super natural, you should read it, and see for yourself if you like it or not. It's a series, and I'm going to read the next one to see if it gets better.

Other News:
3 more days! This is complete torture waiting to hear from Clemson. I can barely concentrate on doing my schoolwork, which is why I'm reading instead of studying for econ. or chemistry. I read when I'm stressed because it gets my mind on what's happening in the book instead of with me. This could explain my sleeping habits, but who knows, I'm not a doctor. It was a dream of mine back when I was younger, but not anymore. I can't even stand needles, or watching the surgery parts of Grey's Anatomy. I don't see myself administering medical advice to anyone in the future. I'll let someone else handle that. Well, this is all for this one.

Meridian

I just finished reading Meridian by Amber Kizer. I started reading it yesterday morning and finished reading it by that afternoon. It had snowed yesterday, and I didn't feel like doing anything besides reading. So now Meridian moves from Books I'm reading list to Books Checked Off the List list.

About and Thoughts on book:
It's about Meridian Sozu, named after great aunt, who is half angel, half human. Meridian is a Fenestra. She's suppose to help souls get over to heaven or whatever they see it as. When Meridian turns 16 she is sent off to live with her great aunt in Revelation, Colorado. Auntie is a Fenestra too and helps Meridian learn and strengthen her power. There are also Nocti that they have to deal with; Nocti are from the Destroyer side. They're trying to kill Fenestras and send souls to hell.

I absolutely could not stop reading once I started; it was that good! I don't really like reading books over again, because I read them thoroughly the first time I do, but this could be one of the few that I actually read over again. If you like books about the supernatural, than you'll love this book.

Other News:
4 more days till I'm suppose to hear from Clemson. I keep going on Duquesne's website and reading about them. The more I read, the more I want to go there. Of course I wanted to go there when I applied. It was just my second choice after Clemson. Now it's starting to sound more like a first choice. I'll know for sure next week. At least I hope I will. Well I have more books to read, including one that's for school. So that's all for this one.

Once a Witch

Okay now I've finally had the time to go to my local public library and check out a few books. I also went out and bought some more too. The one I just finished is Once a Witch by Carolyn MacCullough.

About and Thoughts on Book:
It's about a seventeen-year-old girl named Tamsin who's from a family of witches. Everyone in Tamsin's family is Talented. They all have a unique Talent, except Tamsin. She was suppose to be the most Talented, as her grandmother predicted when she was born. But when her eight birthday comes around, the year she's suppose to show what Talent she has, nothing happens. Now, Tamsin spends most of her time in Manhattan at a boarding school. She is looked down upon by her family and everyone in her home town. When a mysterious stranger thinks she is Rowena, her older sister and one of the most Talented in her family, and asks her to help her find something, she does. Even though she has no Talent, Tamsin pretends to be her sister and helps this man out. She discovers later on that maybe she does have something special about her and that her grandmother was right.
I liked the book, so much so that I read in it in less than a day. I couldn't put it down. I felt for Tamsin every time she felt like an outsider in her own family. The ending felt open ended, so I hope this turns out to be a series.

Other News:
I have many other books left to read, and at the moment I'm reading Meridian, and the rest of the House of Night series. I finally was able to buy the last two that are out. So this is all for now.

# 7 - Before I Fall

I've just finished reading Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. I had just gotten it in the mail two days ago because I signed up for Barnes and Nobles' First Look for Teenreads.

 About and Thoughts On Book:
Samantha Kingston has it all: the world's most crush-worthy boyfriend, three amazing best friends, and first pick of everything at Thomas Jefferson High—from the best table in the cafeteria to the choicest parking spot. Friday, February 12, should be just another day in her charmed life.
Instead, it turns out to be her last.
Then she gets a second chance.
Seven chances, in fact. Reliving her last day during one miraculous week, she will untangle the mystery surrounding her death-and discover the true value of everything she is in danger of losing.
From B&N

It's about a girl named Samantha Kingston. She's popular, pretty, and has a hot boyfriend. She has everything, but she dies on her school's Cupid Day. A day that shows how popular you are by how many roses you get. She relives this day seven times, till she learns that she has to change things that happened before. I have never not liked a character more than at the beginning of this book. By the end, she changes so much that she becomes one of my favorite characters. I couldn't stop reading, except when I had to. The book doesn't come out till March 2nd. I recommend everyone read it. It's one of the best books I've ever read, and I am so glad I did.

Accepted

I got an acceptance letter from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. I have not decided whether I will go there or not. I am waiting to hear from Clemson University. I live in GA, and Duquesne is 10 hrs away. It's not a big deal to me. I have never wanted to go to an in state school. Clemson is in South Carolina, and only two and a half hours away. It would make my mom a lot happier if I went to Clemson. I don't care where I go, they both have what I want. So hopefully on the 15th I will know what my decision is.

Other News:
My sleep habits have not changed. I'm getting little sleep each day. Again I am typing this at almost one in the morning. My hair is still blue. It's coming out though. Oh, my twin got into Wake Forest. She applied Early Decision, so she has no choice but to go there. Lucky her. Nothing too exciting has happened in my life lately. I wish something had. So this is the end for this one.
