City of Fallen Angels

This is a book I've been waiting to read for a while now. It's City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare and it's book 4 of the Mortal Instrument series.

About and Thoughts on Book:

The Mortal War is over, and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She's training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And—most importantly of all—she can finally call Jace her boyfriend.

But nothing comes without a price.

Someone is murdering Shadowhunters, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second, bloody war. Clary's best friend, Simon, can't help her. His mother just found out that he's a vampire and now he's homeless. Everywhere he turns, someone wants him on their side—along with the power of the curse that's wrecking his life. And they're willing to do anything to get what they want. Not to mention that he's dating two beautiful, dangerous girls—neither of whom knows about the other one.
When Jace begins to pull away from her without explaining why, Clary is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: she herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.
From B&N

They're back. The characters that you loved from the first 3 books are back again in the newest book in the Mortal Instrument series. The war is over and Clary and Jace can finally be together, but not everything is perfect. This one isn't told from Clary's point of view as much as the others. Simon has an even bigger role in this one because everyone wants him. He may just be the key to stopping this whole thing.

Something about this series pulls me in and makes me feel like I'm a part of it. The writing is wonderful, making you think you're there. Every time I pick up one the books in The Mortal Instrument series, I think I'm a Shadowhunter, fighting demons, or that I'm going through what Clary's going through with Jace. So when Jace starts acting strange, I feel like he's let me down. That he's breaking my heart. It's hard to come back from this world, but maybe it's just me. It's one of the reasons I truly love this series, but also a reason I can't stand the endings. It makes me think my life has come to a halt waiting for the rest of my life to be written. So I felt that again at the end of City of Fallen Angels. I don't want to give anything away because this book is a must to read of you are at all into the paranormal YA scene. Jace is just as arrogant and as sarcastic as ever, having great moments with Simon. Simon is still geeky, even though he's suppose to be a hot vampire. Clary still her stubborn self, never listening and always wanting to take care of things herself. But they've grown a lot since the first book, City of Bones. Even Isabelle has changed, and you get to read about a different side of her in this book besides her badass Shadowhunter side. It's a great book, that I simply couldn't put down. It's a world I didn't want to leave.

I have to agree with you, there is something about this series that sucks you in! I have read all four books and am waiting in heavy anticipation for the next one, NEXT YEAR!!! It's just to long to wait. I can't wait for the next two books. I sense something very big happening with Sebastian.

I agree about Sebastian! I couldn't believe that ending at all, and a year is way too long to wait to find out what all happens.

I was very upset when City of Fallen Angels ended. It just, stopped... I was expecting more. But it just stopped. It's very much like watching a movie and the bad guy is just about to get killed and then the power goes out. It's not fun. But I can't wait for the next one!

I love Jace with all of my heart, he's my fictional soulmate, and yet...good lord that boy is starting to chap my khakis! All this constant self-loathing and constant wailing-on-himself angst. Somebody needs to hug that boy a little more!
